The hidden space inside your TV Set.

Capturing a TV Turning Off by Stephan Tillmans

Images on a TV or computer monitor are created by bombarding a fluorescent screen with electrons. When the monitor is turned off there is a split second when the last electrons are emitted and project on the screen producing an image that is half wavelength and half picture. Stephan Tillmans captures this enigmatic moment when the screen becomes a window into the space  of the tube revealing the dance of the electrons.
